HORSEMEN GET THEIR REVENGE: TAKE DOWN CAROLINA COBRAS IN SECOND-HALF SURGE AT FORD IDAHO CENTER

Nampa, ID — April 17, 2025

One year ago, the Carolina Cobras came into the Ford Idaho Center and snuck out with a nail-biting 51-49 win, handing the Idaho Horsemen just their third home loss in four seasons. Fast forward to last night — the Horsemen got their revenge in dominant fashion, shutting down the Cobras in the second half and claiming a 34-21 victory in front of an electric home crowd.

The night started slow for Idaho, with the offense struggling to find rhythm under quarterback Giovanni Sanders. At halftime, the Horsemen trailed 14-6, and Head Coach Reynolds made a pivotal decision — he handed the reins over to quarterback Kaleb Lowe, and everything changed.

Lowe came in and lit a spark under the Horsemen offense, orchestrating four second-half touchdown drives and finishing the game 10-for-16 passing, 130 yards, and 4 touchdowns. His accuracy and composure gave the unit the boost it desperately needed.

Lowe’s favorite targets on the night included:

  • Kyler Henson: 8 catches, 82 yards, 2 TDs

  • Kalab Macaway: 3 catches, 62 yards, 2 TDs

  • Justin Clarkston: 1 catch, 17 yards — but it was a game-changer. On 4th down, Clarkston hauled in a miraculous go-ahead touchdown that shifted the momentum and energized the Idaho faithful.

While the offense turned it up in the second half, the Horsemen defense kept the Cobras in check all night, and clamped down hard after the break, allowing just 7 points.

Brandon Scott led the defensive effort with two interceptions, and Kyler Henson added one of his own to complete a stellar two-way performance.

With the win, the Horsemen move to 2-2 on the season and maintain their dominance at home, where they’ve now only lost five times in five years at the Ford Idaho Center.

Idaho now turns its attention to the road, as they travel to Denver next week to take on the Colorado Spartans in a crucial matchup that could set the tone for the rest of the 2025 campaign.
